Real Experiences of those Who Received Compassionate Doula Support

A Birth Story

My husband and I had the privilege of having Mandy as our birth doula, and I truly don’t have the words to express how grateful I am for her presence during one of the most intense and vulnerable experiences of my life. From the moment we connected, she made feel so supported, heard, and respected. She honored our birth preferences with so much care and was a consistent grounding voice I needed to hear whenever I started to doubt myself.

Mandy’s ability to anticipate our needs and provide both emotional and physical support during my labor (and pregnancy!) was nothing short of incredible. I trusted her completely, not just her knowledge but her honesty. If there was ever something she didn’t know, she never pretended or guessed; instead, she responded with compassion and tapped into her amazing network of resources to guide us. That kind of transparency and humility made me feel so safe and supported through every step of the journey. We truly couldn’t imagine going through it without her.

Mandy’s postpartum follow-up was exactly what I needed in those tender, early moments of motherhood. Her calming presence, gentle guidance, and genuine care helped me find my footing when everything felt so new and overwhelming. The trust I felt with her—and in handing my baby over to her—was rare and deeply comforting.

If I had to do it all again, I’d bring her back in a heartbeat.

Mandy was a fantastic doula - can’t recommend her enough. Responsive, helpful & knowledgeable

Mandy both prepared us for, and helped us fulfill, the labor and delivery of our dreams! From the first interaction, to the birth of our boy, and post partum, she was just amazing! This was our first baby, and I dont know what we would've done without her support and advise. We are forever grateful 🙏 She was an answered prayer.

Mandy is a loving individual who is always ready to step in and help! As a Postpartum Doula I often refer my clients to her for their births because I know she will do everything she can to help their birth process to be an empowering experience. She is passionate about what she does, and truly cares about each family she works with.

Mandy is an amazing doula! She is supportive during the labor process and postpartum time period. She is respectful of birth preferences and shares her knowledge in a kind manner. She is able to discern when support is needed and is timely and responsive. She also advocates for her clients when needed. Her doula services are highly recommended.

Mandy was absolutely wonderful to work with. I ended up having a planned C-section and Mandy walked us through the entire process ahead of time, gave us tips, and made us completely at ease going into it. She was there pre-and post delivery creating a calm environment and helping us navigate the first few hours of our babies life. I can’t recommend her enough!

In the weeks after having our first baby, it was such a comfort knowing Mandy was there to support us with nights a few days a week. She not only handled feeding, burping, changing etc. but also helped with lifestyle questions (Ex. How to correctly use an infant carrier and breast pump) and settling our postpartum nerves (Ex. Working with us on a holistic feeding schedule for baby). We really enjoyed having her and she fit right in with our little family! Would definitely recommend and can’t thank her enough!

The best thing I did was hire Mandy as my doula for my 2nd pregnancy. I got the VBAC I hoped and dreamed for since finding out I was pregnant and I’ll forever be grateful for the support she gave me. She not only pushed me but she advocated for me the entire time. Even when I thought I couldn’t do it she refused to let me give up because she believed in me. Even if I had the same outcome without her I would choose hiring her over and over again! Everyone needs Mandy or an exact replica of her for at least their first pregnancy!

Mandy is the most caring, professional, and knowledgeable doula I could have dreamed of. I worked with Mandy as a postpartum doula and it was so very comforting to have her with me as I returned home from the hospital with my new baby. She provided a safe space to process my birth story, restful sleep, and excellent pointers on everything from breastfeeding to sleep to bathing. More than that, Mandy is a calming presence and the perfect person to help create a smooth transition into motherhood—whether it’s your first time or beyond.

My experience with Mandy was incredible! i felt so supported, knowledgeable and ready for my VBAC as I ever could have been. Unfortunately, due to anatomy reasons, I couldn't have my VBAC. A lot of people asked my if i regretted getting a Doula since I didnt get the outcome I wanted, and It is a hard NO. I don't have any regrets. I know for a fact that I gave It my all, I had a very relaxing (as relaxing as labor could be) 3 hour labor experience because of Mandy! We tried every single position imaginable and she advocated for me the entire time! I absolutely love her and would highly recommend hiring her!!!!

The best decision ever made was hiring Mandy as a postpartum night doula for my twins. She is like family now. I was a little skeptical of bringing on a doula at first (stranger danger lol), but Mandy put me at ease the moment we met. She's very kind and knowledgeable on all things baby related- she even provided amazing recommendations and referrals for my son with some reflex and colic issues which helped tremendously. We laughed together even on the days i was so sleep deprived I wanted to cry. Mandy is a huge reason why my postpartum experience went so well.... I was able to sleep a FULL NIGHT knowing the twins were in safe and loving hands when Mandy was at the house. I would hire her again in a heart beat. Highly highly recommend!!!

Mandy supported us before, during and after the birth of our 2nd child. She made us feel so comfortable through all the stages and talked us off of many ledges when things didn’t go as planned. We didn’t really know what to expect for the postpartum support she provided for us when we returned home from the hospital (she was with us 3x/week for 8 weeks) and after all was said and done both my husband and I attribute her being with us for emotional support as well as physical support, allowing us each to get in some self care a few times a week (taking care of the baby while the other parent plays with the toddler, laundry, light meal prep, etc) to our much better postpartum experience this time around. We highly recommend working with Mandy and can’t say enough about her!

My spouse and I chose Mandy as our doula for the birth of our first baby earlier this winter. Neither of us knew what to do or expect, and I had a lot of fears going into it. Mandy was excellent throughout the entire process. She was available in person and by text to answer questions and make suggestions and recommendations during the months of pregnancy, and made sure both I and my husband felt educated and prepared. She was never put off by my nervous, type-A concerns. She helped get us through a difficult labor and delivery, supported my spouse as well, and made sure I had the time to always understand and consider my choices. And she was available and incredibly supportive postpartum as well. Mandy is professional and very knowledgeable. She is also calm, kind, and caring. I would recommend her to anyone!

Working with Mandy has been one of the most positive and empowering experiences I’ve ever had. I knew I wanted to try for a VBAC for our second baby and just a different experience overall. On the original phone meeting she was great about information, listening, and including both my husband and I on what our goals were and the support she could provide. I had a lot of anxieties about c-section vs VBAC and the uncertainty of birth, even as a second time mom! After meeting Mandy I knew we had made the correct choice for our Doula. She was calming, reassuring, positive, and very attentive. During labor she kept me calm, relaxed, and advocated for me. With her support, I felt prepared and confident I could tackle whatever the delivery would be. Long and behold I got the beautiful vbac delivery I hoped for and felt so validated and whole. Mandy is meant to be doing what she does and working with her will be a huge blessing for yourself and your baby!!

My doula Mandy Langston was so amazing! Not only did she help me to try every possible method to turn a breech baby but she also really helped me through a hard two weeks of processing the possibility of a c section if the baby didn’t turn. And then when he didn’t turn, she helped me sort through both on an emotional level but also a rational level how to move forward when faced with the sudden decision of a planned vs possible emergency c section. She is just as much a psychologist and life coach as she is a medical professional. Her advice in terms of medical options involved in the c section was also invaluable and far more information than I received from the doctors. I was also so thankful for her continued support and knowledge at the hospital when I faced a preeclampsia diagnosis post delivery. I felt so lucky to have her as part of my support system. It made such a difference in the whole experience! She always had great advice, knowledge, and an approach full of positivity, possibility, and personal empowerment! She is a true gem!

Mandy was my doula at my recent home birth. She was amazing--I felt so lucky. It was my first birth, and it certainly wasn't easy. I hung onto her voice coaching me through every contraction. She and my partner also worked together to apply pressure to my back and hips. She brought oils and a peanut ball and other comfort supplies. She had such a nurturing presence-- I felt like I was being mothered in the gentlest way. She also supported me through expelling of all sorts of bodily fluids without being fazed. Afterward she sent us some beautiful photos she had taken at our request to document the life-changing experience. I definitely recommend Mandy as a doula--I can't speak to the hospital birth, but I know she has that experience and I'm sure she would be excellent. The midwives who delivered our baby were impressed with her. Additionally Mandy was well-informed on many birth/baby topics and gave us a much-needed breast pump tutorial in our post partum visit. She was fantastic with the baby and so I can see that her post partum doula services are excellent as well. Highly recommend Mandy!! You will be in good hands.

Mandy was an absolute lifesaver during our first few months as new parents and I could not recommend her more highly! When our daughter unexpectedly came 4 weeks early, we were so overwhelmed with navigating preemie newborn care. We didn’t have family nearby and reading conflicting advice on the internet only added to our stress. Hiring Mandy was the best decision we could’ve made. She seamlessly fit into our family & I felt incredibly comfortable with her from the moment I met her. Mandy truly is a “baby whisperer” with her calming presence & I could immediately see our newborn ease into her care as if she were a family member. Not only did I trust her implicitly, but she also wrote detailed logs of her overnight shifts, which were so helpful to reference the next day or night. Mandy’s overnight help allowed us to get some much-needed rest, and we slept soundly knowing our daughter was in the best hands. What really set Mandy apart, though, was how patient & thorough she was in sharing her wealth of knowledge. She answered any and all of our questions with thoughtful, clear guidance, and never once made us feel rushed or inadequate. Whether it was helping us understand our baby's cues, offering tips on sleep & feeding, or explaining routine baby care, her expertise was invaluable and was exactly what we needed to feel confident in our new roles as parents. She was also incredibly responsive day or night - whether it was a quick text or an in-depth question - and always made us feel like her main priority. Mandy’s calm demeanor, compassionate support, & expert guidance made all the difference in our first few months as a family of 3. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better postpartum doula & we are so grateful to Mandy!

As first-time parents, Mandy played an essential role in our journey as our postpartum doula. From the moment we met her on a video call, we had an instant connection, we felt like we knew her forever, and we agreed instantly that she was the one we wanted to help us care for our son. Returning home after an emergency c-section, with an infant who had intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), began his adventure in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and faced a myriad of everyday challenges was a tremendous undertaking. I truly believe, our son would not be here today if she hadn't shared her wisdom and care for him. During one of her visits, Mandy pointed out that our son had a lip and tongue tie. We were determined to have it checked out because we knew it was causing him trouble feeding. Our pediatrician hadn't noticed it before, but she sent us to an ENT because we were persistent and because we believed in what Mandy had observed. Mandy's support and advocacy were invaluable. At one point, she brought up the possibility of taking him to the doctor after noticing that his bowel movements were unusual. We went immediately, and at first, they didn't think anything was wrong. However, after taking his temperature four times, they determined that he was hypothermic at 93 degrees, so we were sent to the emergency room. There, he was diagnosed with hypoglycemia due to his eating issues, and without Mandy, we don't even want to think about what could have happened. She taught us how to bathe him, feed him, soothe him, and care for him that no book or class could ever provide. Her overnights were a godsent and we trusted her whole heartidly with our child. Her warmth was second-to-none. She became like family to us right away, and we keep in touch with her by sharing news about our baby, both at the beginning of his life and as he grows older. She comes highly recommended by us. She will always have a special place in our hearts, and we are confident that she will be an incredible addition to your growing family.
